Nanoparticle carriers are increasingly explored as vectors for targeted delivery in biomedicine to reduce systemic toxicity and therapeutic dosing requirements. It has been shown that the mechanical properties of these carriers can affect their biodistribution and efficacy. Therefore, it is critical to understand the role that particle rigidity plays in determining biointeractions, both at the cellular and systems level, in order to improve carrier performance.
