In 2011, the EU decided that all nanoparticle (NPs) have to be clearly indicated in consumer products, however, thus far there are no established and validated analytical methods available for the regulatory authorities. In this direction, the main objective of the project is to develop a standard methodology for the detection and analysis of NPs and changes in their physicochemical properties (e.g. size, state of aggregation and dissolution) when they are integrated in a consumer product as an ingredient or delivered via complex liquids or solid matrices.
