Nanoparticle Synthesis
Synthetic strategies to fabricate a wide variety of nanoparticles with tight control of size, composition and shape.
Nanoparticles can be produced by breaking down larger materials, or synthesized by so called “bottom-up” approaches from a molecular level. In our laboratories we are dedicated to bottom-up methods and synthesizing monodisperse nanoparticles of various kinds through colloidal chemistry. Consequently, we are able to tune and control precisely the size, shape, and composition in regard to their field of application. Examples of our in-house synthesized nanoparticles include: silica spheres, gold nanostars, gold nanorods, iron oxide spheres, iron oxide cubes, and various polymeric systems.
