PEROTTO Carlo
Carlo Perotto is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Polymer Chemistry and Materials group at the Adolphe Merkle Institute of the University of Fribourg.
Carlo graduated in Chemistry from the University of Torino, with a Master’s project on the synthesis of organometallic complexes for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution. After a brief collaboration with Dr. Mark M. Law at the University of Aberdeen (UK) on a computational chemistry project, Carlo joined the group of Prof. Martin Schröder at the University of Nottingham (UK) for a PhD degree in synthetic inorganic chemistry. The focus of his work was the synthesis and characterization of Ni-Fe complexes as structural and spectroscopic models of the active site of the Ni-Fe hydrogenase enzyme. Carlo was subsequently appointed as Research Fellow in Dr. Jonathan McMaster’s group (University of Nottingham) working on the synthesis of spin labelled permanent organic radicals for Dinamic Nuclear Polarization (DNP) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) studies. Following a postdoctoral position in the group of Dr Laura Nyström at the ETH in Zürich, Carlo has joined the group of Prof. Chris Weder to investigate new adhesives for light-induces de-bond on demand solutions and to study polymer compositions of shape-memory materials for biomedical applications.
