Werner Kurth Donation to support internships at AMI
The Adolphe Merkle Institute (AMI) is pleased to announce a significant donation from the late Werner Kurth. Mr. Kurth, a former employee of Vibro-Meter (later Meggitt) during Adolphe Merkle’s company ownership, passed away last year. He worked for the company for 50 years, notably as Director of Quality Assurance and as a management board member. In this capacity, he was responsible for establishing quality systems and controls to guarantee the airworthiness of the company’s products, most of which are installed in commercial aircraft. His philanthropic decision was to donate a generous gift of CHF 147,000.
Mr Kurth expressed a heartfelt wish for students to benefit from these funds. In response, AMI will establish scholarships for international students, allowing them to participate in short-term internships at our institute. The Adolphe Merkle Foundation will oversee the administration of these funds. AMI remains deeply grateful for Mr. Kurth’s donation and dedication to supporting education and research.
