AMI Alumni, Polymer Chemistry and Materials

Lucas Montero is a senior scientist and Ambizione fellow in the Polymer Chemistry and Materials group at the Adolphe Merkle Institute of the University of Fribourg.

Lucas was educated in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and obtained his PhD from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Spain). After holding postoctoral positions in the University of Potsdam (Germany), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) and the Adolphe Merkle Institute (AMI), he obtained an Ambizione fellowship and took a group leader position at the AMI, where he leads a team that explores structure-property relationships in (phase-segregated) supramolecular polymers.

Lucas's research interests include supramolecular polymers self-assembly, stimuli-responsive materials, olefin metathesis polymerization and the use of renewable building blocks for polymer synthesis.

Further details can be found in his CV.
